What a coincidence.
I just registered for the Boston Marathon yesterday, so as long as they approve me, I am going.
Okay, I’m a guy, so hopefully that explains my confusion about Phelps. Maybe it’s the height and abs thing and I’m stupidly jealous. Who knows? And if you’re not offended by the beach volleyball outfits, then there really is no problem. Those female volleyballers were so good, you didn’t care what they had on – you were just mesmerized by their play.
I’ve got some speed, but nothing like you have for the shorter distances – you’d leave me in your dust. But, if we both ran much longer, I’d be like the Energizer Bunny. Let me know how your timing trials go. Myself, I’m so glad I can run as fast now as I did when I was about 20.
Hey, is it training camp for the Quad City Flames yet? And can you get Chucko lost in traffic or something? That might help your team’s cause.

Hi, bud.
Summer was actually good, if not busy at work. We finally hired someone to help me in July, since I was doing two jobs since January. And you know we guys don’t multi-task well. Ha ha. We had a week holiday in Edmonton and saw the Wayne Gretzky statue (I’ve got it as one of my snapshots), a rink at the West Edmonton Mall, and the dinosaur museum. Oh, and I ran the Edmonton marathon and was fast enough to qualify for the Boston Marathon again.
Oh Canada! Until week 2 we had NO medals at all. None. I said to everyone it’s because we love doughnuts so much. Well, we finished with the third most medals ever for us, but still should have had way more.
I will remember Phelps for a long time, but I’d like to figure out how he got to be a sex symbol (?). Explain this to me. And why do the women beach volleyballers wear bikinis while the men wear tank tops and shorts? Hmmm. Hugh Hefner running the Olympics? But you’re right, that American team was a juggernaut. The Chinese female gymnasts were underage? . . . No! No way! Ha ha. I thought exactly that when I saw them, and I’m Canadian. They looked 10 years old! Ah, we could go on and on about the American athletes, and you should be proud. They did great.
Two good Canadian memories: one, the 8-man rowing team for finally getting gold, and two, Simon Whitfield getting silver in the triathlon after getting gold in 2000.

We Must Have Typed Our Messages.........
......to each other at the same time. I was just telling Glenn, Katie Couric of CBS News did her newscast from here in Baton Rouge. She and a lot of the media types are staying here. Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff just got through speaking from the FEMA HQ’s here in Baton Rouge. Baton Rouge is the staging ground for the whole H. Gustav Opration, just like during Katrina. This is the fun part of the bad situation. In fact, the Rep. Nat’l Convention in the Twin Cities has been partly broken up because of all this. Half the Convention people are down here now.

Hi there.
Long time, no talk. How has your summer been. We had about 3 weeks of summer and it’s basically over. Some things about Canada sucks, and this is one of them. Another is pitiful Olympic performances. Congrats on Phelps, the basketball teams, and the other great American Olympians that did you proud.
It’s cold and raining here, but I’m reminded that I get rained on after you – height difference thing. But then you get the summer sun before me, too. Okay, you win.

Well, Erin, Y'all Had Flooding..........
........earlier this year – now it’s our turn. Looks like Hurricane Gustav will dump a lot of rain on us. And blow a few things over while in the process. I hope to have a few pics after it’s all over. In the meantime, I won’t be on here. So hope to talk to everyone soon.
