Living in Southern California, no one cares about hockey anymore. Even the Ducks winning the Cup did nothing to boost the game outside of Anaheim. All anyone knows is that Gretzky played for the Kings at one time. I always find that I have to defend the game to people that have no clue what it’s all about. They seem to forget that hockey was as big as basketball, if not bigger, before the strike. The player’s union really messed things up. I have to admit that I became a fan of the Ducks and hockey because of the movie but honestly I don’t care. In ‘93 I was 10 years old and everyone, including myself, was into baseball more than anything else. Until I started watching the fast paced, hard hitting game of hockey, baseball was my #1 sport. I can finally afford a pair of season tickets for 2008-2009, so I should be there for every home game. Hope to see you there Ducks Fans!
