I thought he’d say that . . . much as I like the guy, I knew he wasn’t ready to coach NHL, and I didn’t want the Avs to look too seriously at him for Q’s spot. But there’s still the possibility somewhere down the road . . . when he’s got more experience and his sons are grown . . . we’ll probably be looking for a coach again within the next 10 year, and maybe then the time will be ripe for a Roy return . . . but I knew that this go round was not.

It makes sense though. He wants to continue coaching his sons….it’s every father’s dream!! But I have to say I’m kind of glad he’s not going to coach in the NHL just yet. I just don’t think we’re quite ready for his temper and drama; give it a few more years…lol. Give him a little more time and experience coaching and he will be the master. He was a brilliant player and one of my favorite goalies of all time and I will always be one of his biggest fans!!
