about the referees. yes they could do better. i saw some bad calls and some bad non calls all throughout the playoffs. so what? i really dont want to see play stopped every minute and a half for a power play. i want to see old time hockey! remember when they used to not call anything at all in the 3rd period? also it seems that people only @% about the refs is after their team loses. if the red wings lose and the refs were bad im not gonna cry about it. after all, whining never helps anything.

no kidding..
it becomes really annoying after a while,but all teams deal with it and for some reason ppl think the refs are against their team which is not the case.I don’t complain about the refs,although they could be doing better,esp. when other sports have officials that are on the ball,ie NFL,ball is hiked,play is stopped cause they seen a guy shake in the middle,you go what the,they replay it and you see oh its offsides.Its more complicated than NHL refs jobs and they could do better,but every team deals with it so why complain? and really miss the old time playoff hockey where no penalties,well questionable ones were not called and they let them play it out unless the penalty was obvious,like a check from behind.you get real hard-nosed action that way,it was the best…

The point is
If this was the NFL, NBA or MLB and their officials were so blatantly bad and inconsistent fans would be screaming about it and people would be losing their jobs.
We as fans should be screaming about the overall performance of the officials in the playoffs. It’s disgraceful and it having a negative impact on the game.

about the penalties. but sometimes they call really unfair/bogus calls. heck, i even got mad at them when my team WON!
Actually, might I add, that hasn’t happened in awhile yet.. siigh.. hmm. What chaos there would be if the refs didn’t call anything! That would be quite fun actually!
