“Would a fly without wings be called a walk?”
Monday June 23, 2008 @ 05:47 PM EDT
Yeah, another non-hockey blog – so sue me!
Sorry, I’m just getting into the right mindset to say good-bye to George Carlin. George died this morning at the age of 71 – an age I’m sure he wouldn’t have trusted back in the 60s. For you young’uns who aren’t familiar with him, I’m sure you can track him down on YouTube – and it’ll will be worth your while. For George, no subject was taboo, no word was taboo … even the seven deadly words. He brought a conscience to comedy and his social commentary bit hard.
So, farewell George and below are some of your more memorable quotes and comments … you will be missed. “May the forces of evil become confused on the way to your house.”
When cheese gets it’s picture taken, what does it say?
What if there were no hypothetical questions?
Frisbeetarianism is the belief that when you die, your soul goes up on the roof and gets stuck.
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
Before they invented drawing boards, what did they go back to?
Men are from Earth, women are from Earth. Deal with it.
If all the world is a stage, where is the audience sitting?
Well, if crime fighters fight crime and fire fighters fight fire, what do freedom fighters fight? They never mention that part to us, do they?
Honesty may be the best policy, but it’s important to remember that apparently, by elimination, dishonesty is the second-best policy.
I’m completely in favor of the separation of Church and State. My idea is that these two institutions screw us up enough on their own, so both of them together is certain death.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I’m just not close enough to get the job done.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.
And, finally, to Scott Kallita’s family, our thoughts go out to you.

AWESOME!
Thanks for this blog entry. My Dad turned me on to George Carlin, once I was old enough to listen to him anyways. He always said that he was the funniest man in the world. R.I.P. George!

My dad
always says at least one George Carlin quote every day, and they always make me laugh. It was weird hearing about this early this morning because my family was just talking about him last night.
