I agree...
…Smith wasn’t his old self. He wasn’t delivering his big hits or really doing anything. I wonder if maybe it wouldn’t have been better for Stevens to bring up Gauthier or Guenin to step in. I know they’re not the same as Smith when he’s healthy, but if Smith was rendered incapable of doing anything, could it have been any worse? Oh well, hindsite is always 20/20.
I wonder if Homer is going to be able to clear enough cap space to try & sign Brian Campbell. He’d be a REALLY nice addition….but I wonder how RJ would feel having him as a teammate?!

I agree about the "D"
Here’s a blurb about Hatcher & Smith from a story on Homer’s offseason on NHL.com:
“Another task for the Flyers is getting Biron better protection. Timonen and Braydon Coburn are set as the top defensive pairing. But team captain Jason Smith and veteran Derian Hatcher were both injury prone and are unlikely to return.
Holmgren revealed that Smith played with two separated shoulders in the postseason and Hatcher needed his knee drained almost every day. While Holmgren called their efforts “pretty inspirational,” they might not fit next year as the Flyers try to get younger and faster.”
And about the Birds….I root for them, as long as they aren’t playing the silver & black!

UGH
So I’m still down about the way the season ended and I’m sure that you are too. But I am looking forward to the Finals…of course, not as much as if our team was there, but it should be a good series.
OK, so let’s see…we have the entry draft coming up in about a month and training camp starts in oh, about 4 months or so. I’m already having Flyer withdrawal!
But you gotta love the way this team turned things around so quickly, eh?!
