When you think of Pavel Datsyuk, you probably think of a gifted scorer and the capability of taking over a game with his offense. What you might not realize is that he's far and away the NHL's best when it comes to takeaways. Takeaway threats
Darren McCarty had his day with the Stanley Cup for the fourth time this summer, but it isn't old hat yet. In fact, as we see on The Hockey Show, the fourth time might be the best of all for the veteran Red Wing.
Winning faceoffs can be an overlooked part of the game; NHL.com takes a look at some of the Eastern Conference and Western Conference's best men in the faceoff circles.
In an effort to get past the second round of the playoffs, the Rangers went out and bolstered their offense with former Canucks captain Markus Naslund while adding Wade Redden to the defense.

What do you want me to say?
New York is superior to any state in the US because they have ice “year round” and three hockey teams, two of which are decent and one mediocre? I’m sorry that it offends you so, but the NHL was bound to expand beyond the Original 6, and being that so many people from the North migrate to the South, hockey teams are going to follow. It’s a shame being the hockey fan, especially a RANGERS fan, can’t accept that money is part of any professional sport. Teams are formed to try to be a winner. Why? Because winners make money. As @% as it is, that’s the NHL.

Seriously?
You’re telling me that there is no business for there to be hockey in Florida, but have no valid point, other than there is not ice year round. No, it’s not about money and marketing, but, where is the hurt in trying to educate other “non-worthy” states about the sport that so many people love? It makes perfect sense for there to be hockey in Florida, or anywhere in the south, regardless if there are outside rinks or not. And yes, without money or marketing, the NHL would not thrive. That’s the way it is.

Why?
It makes perfect sense in the aspect of making money. Canadians and other snowbirds come here, especially during hockey season, and with tickets being so cheap, and nothing else really to do around here, why not go watch hockey? Tampa Bay is hockey mad. Sure our fans may be idiots, but they do fill the seats night in and night out.

Old folks...
who retire to Florida from up north, where hockey is played? It’s perfectly logical. Youth hockey may be garbage, but obviously pro-hockey is thriving.
