Thrashers center excited for city
Wednesday January 23, 2008 @ 02:14 PM EST
I‘ll be headed out to The Rink at Rockefeller Center in a few hours to chat with a few of the all-time Rangers greats, but, until that time, I thought I’d provide some comments made by Thrashers center Eric Perrin regarding Sunday’s All-Star Game at Philips Arena.
``The city needs something like this,’’ Perrin said. ``We all know it’s a busy city and there’s a lot going on with the football and basketball teams. Hockey was introduced not too long ago (1999-2000) and it’s still growing. I feel we’re headed in the right direction but having the all star game and promoting hockey like this with the best players in the world is always great for the city, especially a city that is trying to push hockey.’‘
Perrin has recorded an assist on seven of the team’s shorthanded goals and owns Atlanta’s franchise-record for most shorthanded assists in a season with seven.
He feels Atlanta will thoroughly enjoy the weekend’s festivities.
``It’s going to be a great show with the skills competition and it’ll allow the fans to witness the players from the West that you hear about but never get to see.’‘
See you in Atlanta!
Peace out!
