Spokane Chiefs are WHL Champs!

Big ups! Congratulations to the Spokane Chiefs for capturing the Western Hockey League Championship (Ed Chynoweth Cup) this past tuesday. Spokompton swept the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the final series.

Washington State (and U.S.) hockey fans have reason to celebrate. The Chiefs are the first US Division WHL team to win the Cup in 10 years (Portland in 1998). Exciting stuff.
Spokompton will be representing the Dub at the Memorial Cup Championship tournament in Kitchener, Ontario. Go Chiefs!

Good for Spokane, and the state of Washington. Lots of hockey fans in that state.
What do you think of the Belleville Bulls coming back from being down 0-3 in the OHL Championship? Game 7 is tomorrow night…
Do they show the Memorial Cup tournament where you are? If not, I could use a room mate and I just got an LCD tv with HD…

will take it I think, though I’m pulling for the Rangers or Bulls.
Belleville has a heck of a goalie in Murphy though and I think they could ride him to the Championship.
I like Mikkel Boedker on the Rangers (hoping the Leafs draft him)

Oh man, Spokompton, so good. I haven’t been there since I played there when I was about 12 or 13. Sounds like not much has changed. It’s good to see them win the dubya though, they worked their asses off this year

Since Spokane looks like they can play some D, they look like the only team that can hold a candle to Kitchener on their home ice at the Memorial Cup. Who knows? Perhaps “Spokompton” (love it) will fare better than the 2 U.S. teams (Lewiston and Plymouth) did at last year’s Mem Cup.
