In a report from a Czech website, their “inside sources” are reporting Rangers’ free agent Martin Straka is returning to the Czech Repbulic to play for his hometown team, Plzen.

From the Czech website (roughly translated on iGoogle):
“Hokejový attacker Martin Straka, according to the words of Thomas King returned to Pilsen, will be here as a player and persona. King of the information provided in the online interview http://www.deniksport.cz. “I can confirm that Martin Straka from 1.7.2008 returned to Pilsen, as a player and sports persona.” Tomas said the king in an online interview.
Martin Straka worked for a long time in the NHL, where oblékal shirt just a few clubs. His last employer was the New York Rangers, where he played alongside his long-standing friend Jaromir Jagr. He probably still is not back, because the Rangers are still negotiating the contract.About Straka was extralize great interest in Europe, significantly after toužila especially Sparta Prague and Liberec. However, Martin Straka gave priority to parent club.”

While playing for Plzen in 2004-05, he scored 16 goals and 18 assists (34 pts) in 45 games. Straka had even indicated on team break-up day that his fate with the Rangers relied on countryman and free agent, Jaromir Jagr. Another Czech who’s fate may lay in Jagr’s hands as well is defenseman Michal Rozsival (who is having off-season hip surgery). Does the fate of fan-favourite and uber-pest Sean Avery lay in the hands of the captain as well? Or is it a battle of two ego’s and $750 K. (Probably.)
Will assistant captain Brendan Shanahan, age 39, want to retire, or will Slather try to wring everything out of him and offer him a one year contrat for a lesser role and for less money? Who will stay and who will go? Everything boils down to two things: the money & 1st July.
