YESSSSS
Thank You Super-Dave! I was waiting for someone to mention The Hip!!!! 50 Mission Cap 4sure! Though my fav Hip “hockey” related verse is from the song ‘Fireworks’;
“If there’s a goal that everyone remembers, it was back in ol’ 72
we all squeezed the stick and we all pulled the trigger
and all I remember is sitting beside you
you said you didn’t give aFuck about hockey
and I never saw someone say that before
you held my hand and we walked home the long way
you were loosening my grip on Bobby Orr”
The song refers to Paul Henderson’s “goal heard around the world”… to this day remains the biggest goal in Canadian hockey history!

The Tragically Hip
Either “50 Mission Cap” (about late Leaf great Bill Barilko) or “The Lonely End of the Rink” are great ways to kick off a hockey game. And speaking of Canadian bands, while I don’t care for Nickelback normally, I love their track “Animals” and their rendition of “Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting”….it always make me think of HNIC when I hear them.

Cliche
But, Shipping Up To Boston by the Dropkick Murphys is unanimous with hockey, and all around sports (probably cause it’s the Boston sports anthem…and the Sabres powerplay theme, which FREAKED OUT my boston born friend) Whenever they played it in the beginning of our games, we’d all get riled

I don't know why
but Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet overture has always reminded me of hockey – I picture guys walking out of the tunnel, laying mean hits and scoring off of beautiful passes . . .

I have two
Both I grew with being played while watching hockey – 1)Sabredance – played during every single Sabres game while I was growing up, it was synonymous with the team, and 2) Na-na-na, Hey -Hey, Goodbye – they used to play it at Quebec Nordique games in the third period when the Nords were winning as a way to celebrate.
