David currently plays FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth on the FOX drama Bones. Though he was born in Buffalo, David will be following his Philadelphia Flyers throughout Stanley Cup Playoffs.

We’ll win at home tonight. I have confidence. I have no problems with Game 6, and then we’ll either play the Bruins or the Canadiens. It looks like it’s going to be Boston. I think they have stepped up huge and it would be a very intense series.

On Saturday, Washington came out flying. They were very physical and really set the tone. We had a lot of opportunities. I like the way Biron is stoning Ovechkin, he is firing but Biron has been standing his ground.

I think the way Philly is playing they’ll pull it out. They’re at home and the crowd is behind them. I have to be optimistic, with the energy of the team; I think the players will step up.

But If it goes to Game 7, I will definitely have to be talked off the ledge.

I think it’s a tough situation for Washington to come back to Philly. I’m not saying they can’t do it but I sense there is a lot of pressure to not blow this series, to not allow them to bring it home for Game 7.

On Thursday, I thought Washington outplayed Philly in OT. That was a spectacular game – some great hockey all around.

It’s funny with Philly I find that they aren’t getting calls. I feel like it’s us against Ovechkin and the refs, so look, we have to match their intensity and pound them.

The last game, they physically beat us up. We lost Knuble because of some bad ice – that was a freakish accident. I don’t know who Stevens is going to put in there…my hope is for Steve Downie.

Downie is a gunslinger. He can go one or two ways, be fast effective and draw penalties or he’s going to take some and put us down. He can be the guy we need to combat their physicality. We’ll see what happens.

I have to give credit to the goaltending. Huet has been very good but Biron has been more than I could’ve expected. The Caps’ D and their forecheck basically put up a wall for us last game.

I’m confident that we’ll close it out. I’m behind the boys, and behind how they’re approaching the game. We can’t be coming from behind. Washington outplayed us in Game 4, but we were able to tie it and win in OT. Our power play is another issue. To win, the power play has to snap back in for us and we have to control the neutral zone.

Washington has settled in. The one fear I have is that they’re feeling good about playoff hockey and what it’s about. That’s what has happened with what Boston has done. The skill players on Montreal almost don’t want the puck. Philly has to match that intensity and we’ll be ready for the next series.

I’m focused on Game 6 right now. We’ll worry about Game 7 if and when it happens.

This is playoff hockey baby.

Alexander the Great 2 Goals Tonight…Huet Kept them in the game alot of times when Philly had alot of scoring chances…I.E rebounds….I started to chuckle when the crowd was say HU-ET real loud….Then once Nicky B and Semin scored…Silence….but to all the philly fans….FEAR THE RED!!!!! Game 7 is going to be some good olde hockey….Remember Dale Hunter 20 years ago had the OT winner in game 7 with the caps and flyers so we shall see if their is any juju left over in DC

    Briere Fan

David, I thought you were a Sabres fan…...I’m just wondering if you changed when Briere was traded…...I thought I remembered your blog from last years Sabres Rangers series…..also….if Boston pulls out the series and Philly wins, you would play the Rangers, not Boston….If the Canadians win they would be your next match…..

    Philly??

Philly is gonna blow the 3-1 lead and get embarrassed! Briere will get heckled by all your fair-weather fans once again! -22 in the regular season, now he wants to play? It just isn’t gonna be enough to win big games. Biron is easily shaken and not nearly enough playoff experience !!! Spend all that money and still no luck….You should be routing for Buffalo ! Forget where ya came from????

I know all about the ledge ...

... I’m out there with the pigeon droppings myself. Game 7 for the Sharks and Calgary Tuesday …. well, like Scarlett, I’ll think about that tomorrow. For tonight, I must say I’d like to see the Caps tie it up. That would make for an awesome game seven.

    Momentum

I’ve gotta give it to Philly, they are shutting down Ovi and I didn’t think that was possible. Unfortunately Semin has decided he cares about hockey for the moment and looks to be on his game. I think the close nature of game 5 slowed down some of Washington’s momentum going to into game 6, but if they win tonight, the excitement alone will carry those kids through game 7 and on to the next round. At least Briere woke up in time to be a factor in the series. Him, Richards, and Biron have been the difference makers. Anywho, Good luck to your Flyers, hope to see them in the finals against the Wings!!

Canadiens a possibility but not Bs

Good luck tonight to your Flyers. Since the teams get re-seeded after each round, If the Flyers were to advance, they would play either Montreal or New York depending on the outcome of that game 7 in Canada. A Flyers-Rangers series would just awesome. Don’t you think so?
