And one more makes three!

Saturday May 31, 2008 @ 11:18 PM EDT

Thorsten currently plays wealthy casino owner, Zach Slater, in ABC’s daytime drama, All My Children. For that role, he received a Daytime Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Lead Actor” in 2006. He has also appeared in films, The Silencers, Deadly Desire, and The Bone Collector. An avid rugby and hockey fan, Kaye will chronicle the Detroit Red Wings run to the Stanley Cup.

Let me say one thing first of all, that 5-on-3 penalty? That wasn’t a penalty. That was Sidney Crosby getting the benefit of the doubt for a weak, weak powerplay that could’ve shifted the entire game, the entire series, the entire 2008 season.

The ref who called that penalty should take a long, hard look at that call and ask himself if it was a penalty. Ask himself if a marginal call is worth a 5-on-3 in a one-goal game with six minutes to go in a pivotal Game 4.

But enough of that.

My congrats to Jiri Hudler, who had an excellent game – and not just because he scored the winning goal – and to the rest of the fourth line (the Darrens: Helm and McCarty) because that line, when they were called on, were excellent. That Helm is quite a hockey player and quickly becoming an integral part of the Red Wings’ team.

And my congrats to Dan Cleary, who, if you’ll check out a blog on NHL.com today, had friends and family in the audience. It looked like the best game he’s played in a long time in these playoffs, and yes, he was with Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg, but he played hard, he retrieved pucks well, and he never stopped skating.

I guess when you have family in the stands, it gives you an extra step.

Well, that’s it for now, just wanted to check in and let everyone know I’ll be back in Detroit for Game 5, and hopefully there to watch the Cup get delivered (knock on wood).

Until then – Go Wings!

A visit with the Stanley Cup?

So if your boys pull this out (and they most likely will), will the Stanley Cup be visiting the Seasons East casino? I think it’s only right. Don’t you?

    Winning On Home Ice

Back to Detroit we go and I cannot wait. This newbie to professional hockey cannot wait for Game 5 and TK…I had no doubt that you wouldn’t be there.

I hope you get to see the team skate around the ice with the Cup.

This game…I was surprised to see the amount of penalties handed out in the first period. What the heck happened?

In the end, Detroit won in a closely contested and much more physical game.

In soccer – it is called a nutmeg when the ball passes through an opponents legs….is it the same when the puck passes through the goalies???

    I loved that.

That’s what makes The Red Wings such a great TEAM…they overcome all obstacles placed in their path (in this case a bad call) and go on to the win!!!! GO WINGS!!!!

p.s. I hope you have Tuesday off so that you can celebrate the Stanley Cup Win on Monday night!!

    GO RED WINGS!!!!

And go they did! Ditto what Yankee Devil said about Hudler, that boy’s just rocking my socks! But that’s the beauty of the Wings, they just all seem like when they need to step up, they DO. They’re just so fun and amazing to watch. Like Hockey Magic! 1 more to go. GO WINGS!!!!!!

    Hudler

Unsung hero of this post season campaign.I believe that is 5 goals and 9 assists for 14 points.Seriously nice stats!Poor man is on the fourth line and look at those numbers.Excellent play by Stusrt and Helm on that goal.Hard work at the blue line keeping it in play by Stuart. Not just the lift of the stick by Helm but the postioning to protect the puck and get it through to Juri.Beauty eh!

    It's Over!!

Wow – this blog got up in record time!! We agree about the penalty – GMAB!! At least it showed how much more experience and overall talent the Red Wings have!! The penguins looked like chickens running around with their heads cut off!! Loved our back handed goal!
TK, do they sell a DVD that just has replays of goal after goal?? THAT would be fun to watch!! And when they win the Cup on Monday night, how are YOU going to celebrate?? smile.png
