Thorsten currently plays wealthy casino owner, Zach Slater, in ABC’s daytime drama, All My Children. For that role, he received a Daytime Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Lead Actor” in 2006. He has also appeared in films, The Silencers, Deadly Desire, and The Bone Collector. An avid rugby and hockey fan, Kaye will chronicle the Detroit Red Wings run to the Stanley Cup.
My interview with the legendary Ted Lindsay
OK OK, so I know I said I’d get it up on Sunday afternoon, but things have gotten crazy with this series and I’ve been busy at work…but you know what? That’s just excuses. And in playoff hockey, there isn’t any room for excuses.
So without further ado, here is the result of my one-on-one interview with Ted Lindsay, only one night before he and his fellow teammates were honored by the Detroit Red Wings and the NHL at a special Legends’ dinner on Sunday, May 25.
I hope you enjoy it, and I tried to ask as many questions as I could from you, the fans, so if you see yours up there, or if I didn’t specifically ask it but he answered it within another questions I asked, know that I had all of you at heart during this interview.
So thanks to all who posted, and thanks to Ted, the Red Wings, and the NHL for being so gracious in setting everything up.
I’ll be back with some Game 2 post-game analysis soon. In the meantime, you know what to say:
Go Wings!!

Meeting a Legend
Wow great interview TK and thanks for getting my question in. I really liked that we were actually able to hear what Mr. L had to say and not just read an interview. The man is very modest and that’s probably what made him such a great hockey player. He did his job not for recognition but for the love of the game. So many athletes could learn a thing from him. I’ll bet he wasn’t even paid a small fortune either.

Shirt you wore
I was watching AMC with my mother(like I have for years) and I think it was sometime last week, where you “snuck” in another Wings shirt that said “Citizen of Hockeytown”. I always love it when you “sneek” those little things in. I was just wondering whether you remember where you got it. I live in Harper Woods/Grosse Pointe area, which is not far from Downtown, and wondered if you found it either downtown or online somewhere or at the Joe.

Mea Maxima Culpa
LS, here is my public apology to you, (see private one below), I did not mean any offense to you and wasn’t even referring to you. I was only bothered by a poster who couldn’t seem to separate our blogger TK from his character Zach. Further reading of posts should make it apparent which one I was referring to. And it was only one and it wasn’t yours. I’m sorry if I hurt your feelings, I would never intentionally do that. I don’t think TK cares if we talk about him either as long as we realize he’s a real person and not a character. So in the immortal words of fanboards, TK, do you have any “glitter” for us after last night’s game? That was a buzzkill for real.
LS, there is no “sin bin”, and if there were, it would not be my place to relegate anyone there.

I apologize
Congratulations, TK, on the interview.
I was under the impression from the invitation on TK’s website that we, as his fans, did not just have to talk hockey here. Be that as it may, to Mr. Kaye, to YesIWatchHockey, and to anyone else whom I might have offended with non-hockey comments in my previous posts, I do sincerely apologize for my error in judgment. It is with respect but great disappointment, however, that I will refrain from posting anything further—it’s not like I really belonged here anyway. I’ll still be rooting for the Wings (because really how could I not?) even though I feel as though I’ve just been relegated to the sin bin.

Fantastic Interview
Thorsten…
I really enjoyed listening to the interview!! How exciting for you and thanks for sharing it!!
We have an interesting Game 3 happening. My co-worker and I spent time this a.m. discussing how Pittsburgh would play tonight on their home ice and would it change things. With 9:15 left in the 3rd period, anything can happen, and I’m sure we’ll have more to talk about tomorrow. (He’s a Rangers fan, but believes the Wings will win).

Thanks so much for the interview, it was awesome hearing your questions and Ted’s opinions. Wow just to be in the ROOM with him!
Of course I missed game 2 but with the love of a good man I have the whole thing on tape and I’m sitting down now with a cup of coffee to watch it!! Can’t wait to hear your comments on it…I know you’re busy at work, are you going to be able to be at the Pittsburgh games, or how does that work?
It was cute hearing you with Ted, you sounded just like a little kid, all excited and stuff! I know you’re having so much fun with this and I’m glad for you, you deserve it! GO WINGS!!!!!

Thanks for the memories!
Hi Thorsten! Thank-you so much for the interview – how awesome that we got to HEAR it, too!! Loved when he mentioned the Roller Derby “broads” being tougher than some of the hockey players!
Your head must be in the clouds with all this hockey hoopla AND the Red Wings being up 2 – 0!!
Am looking forward to you explaining what happened at the end of the game when their 2 players were ejected (?)…
Last night’s game was so exciting – we were actually SCREAMING when they made goals!!
p.s. Could you please kick Greenlee to the curb – she’s a menace to society!
