Heartbreaker

Friday April 18, 2008 @ 11:52 AM EDT

Syd Butler is the bassist for Les Savy Fav, a New York-based band considered among the godfathers of the independent rock music scene. Butler founded the Frenchkiss Records label, with the intent to release the band’s albums, and has since signed over 35 bands, including the Hold Steady, Thunderbirds Are Now, and the Dodos. Ever since growing up in the Washington D.C. area, Syd has been a die-hard Washington Capitals fan. He can’t wait to see what the Stanley Cup Playoffs bring for his Caps.

Just a quick note about last night’s heartbreaker…

Flyers win. It was a nail-biter for sure. I’m glad it’s over though. I couldn’t sit still; I was pacing like a lion at the zoo. The double overtime loss equals too many Tums.

I’ll be happy to see that game 5, win or lose, will be back in D.C. I feel like the Caps have been in Philly too long. They need some home cooking and to sleep in their own sheets.

The Good:

Huet made one of the most amazing saves I’ve ever seen. His double-fisted glove save, where he punched the puck out of the net and then off the post, was amazing!

Backstrom…well, I asked him to step up and he did. smile.png

Semin…I think he stepped up, too. smile.png

Overall the Caps played much better, but maybe a little late in the series.

The Bad:

Duh… The Flyers go up 3-1.
