And before I offer my 1st hand insights from the Igloo, my hat goes off to the Wings for the phenominal defensive effort and stifling of the Pens in the 1st 2 games of series..
As for tonight…
Man this whiteout thing…I’m LOVING IT…the crowd tonight, sensational!!! The noise was nearly as deafening as it was in Game 1 of Conf Semi against Rangers (come back from down 3-0 with 2 goals :20 secs apart twice)
The Penguins FINALLY did what I was screaming @ the Igloo for the viewing parties on Sat and Mon…FORECHECK FORECHECK FORECHECK!!!! Constant pressure on the defenders in their own zone will eventually lead to turnovers, and whadda ya know..Crosby scoops up…dishing to Hossa…Crosby rebound 1-0 Pens…so THAT’S how you generate a goal?? And ppl here in Pittsburgh thought the Pens had forgotten that…
The back and forth constant action tonight was what Gary Bettman and the ‘suits’ @ NHL were praying that all would get to see…BANG bit hit on Kennedy..puck down in Det zone..BIGGER HIT BY GARY ROBERTS (P.S. WWGRD?? Answer: SEE HIT) leads to Adam Hall goal.
Detroit’s offense in 3rd pd was just all out and as good of an effort as I’ve seen sitting in C3 all season long..and that was JUST one pd of work.
Game 4 again..should be very interesting, with again, 1st goal being of critcal importance to both clubs…
Ladies and Gents…it’s NOW A SERIES…(And you thought it was gonna be a sweep? )
