to let it set in, and also watch Detroit clinch as well…I figured I’d offer these thoughts..
Post-game show yesterday…what do the callers wanna talk about…No not the happiness of going to the Stanley Cup Finals..winning the Eastern Conference…didn’t want to discuss the beating the Pens just handed the Flyers…beating our vaunted rivals for the first time ever in a playoff series?!?? Nahhh didn’t wanna touch that subject either…
They wanted to talk about losing Malone and/or Marian Hossa!!!
As John McEnroe said…YOU CAN’T BE SERIOUS!? This team hasn’t even finished taking off their sweat drenched equipment and conducted post-game press conferences..after a WIN no less…and you “PENS FANS” want to call in and discuss losing Marian Hossa and what the Pens should do if that happens…or losing BOTH Hossa and Ryan Malone who according to all you ‘financial advisors’ that chimed in yesterday seem to think he should just stay and take the prohibitive ‘Hometown Discount’
Are you that damn unappreciative?!?? Do you think these types of teams..these occurances just get HANDED to you and that you deserve it?!??
I cannot fathom what it must be like to be a fan of say the Columbus Blue Jackets a team who’s fans would SALIVATE over JUST MAKING the Playoffs, let alone win a Conference with the oppritunity to square off for Lord Stanley’s Cup!!
Let Mario Lemieux and Ray Shero determine the Penguins course of action…they’ve shown they can handle the ship…and they’ll do so…between June 9th and July 1st…and thru Draft, Free Agency, etc. etc.
Quit bein’ so damn narrow-minded or glass half-empty types….It’s NOT PHILADELPHIA!!!
As for the Cup Final…well..can’t say ya didn’t see it comin’ can ya?!?? We know what each team brings, and as for a Pens fan in an earlier blog that put Pens Defense as a “Con”...the only CON I can use..is towards that fan..cause he must be CONfused as to what defense he sees as apposed to EVERYBODY else that has a pair (or even one) working eyeballs!!!
It will be very interesting to watch Game 1…especially the 1st period…how each team reacts to one another..remember, they didn’t play this year.
Congrats Wings on winning the West…I wish you nothing but the best in this upcoming series, hopefully a Good, skilled, clean, hardfought series that Fans can be proud of.

What I've heard
Is that the Pens already stated they cannot afford to resign Hossa.What significance that has on the playoffs, I have no idea.Every player wants the cup.period.It’s not uncommon for team mates to take paycuts to sign or keep players on the roster either.The best thing is to just ignore it until the Cup finals are over.

This was a radio show you’re talking about right?? Well if it’s any consolation, they often screen calls and pick the person that has the question or questions they want to answer. I don’t know if that’s the case for this particular situation. I do think it’s cheezy of them not to talk about the possible matchups rather than divisive topics that only leads to descension in the locker room or promote negative press for any or all of the players in the local and/or nat’l press… that person should be fired… I don’t think those people had the best intentions for the Pens when they allowed this to happen. I know you’re pretty hot about this so I’ll let the Flyers fan thing slide. lol
