2008 Stanley Cup Champions! I love my team and have watched them since they were the dead wings just before they signed Steve Yzerman though I wasn’t a huge fan just yet. I followed them through the years, watched faces come and go, loved the bruise brothers since that was what we were most feared of in those days, watching Yzerman become one of the greatest captains in history, observing team player changes and personnel, all the additions of greats like Bowman, Hull, Shanahan, Robitaille, Larionov, Coffey, Sheppard, Verbeek, Ciccarelli, Carson, Murphy, Hasek, and many more. Now with the salary cap Detroit has still remained on top and with acquisitions like Marian Hossa and all the young prospects waiting in the wings, the Red Wings look they are in a perfect position for defending their 2008 Stanley Cup.

Too many to list! Hockey movies such as Slapshot and Youngblood of course…. Donnie Darko & The Crow are two of my favorites. The Star Wars Trilogy and Prequels, Lord of The Rings Trilogy, Matrix Trilogy, Napoleon Dynamite, Alfred Hitchcock movies, Requiem for a Dream, Mulholland Drive, Party Monster… Big fan of Zombie and Horror movies as well.

PREDICTION
I usualy wait until the season is almost over to predict the Stanley Cup winner. You may remember that towards the end of last season, I correctly picked the Red Wings using my complex “PICK THE TEAM WITH THE MOST POINTS” technique. (Earlier I had picked the Lightning as a joke…either that or I was holding the standings upside down.)
This year, at the start, I will make one prediction: The biggest challenge to the Red Wings will come from the Dallas Stars thanks to the addition of SEAN AVERY! (Boy, do I wish the Flyers could have landed him. Dallas got him for a thief’s bargain.)
