Today is your lucky day folks. You get to pretend you’re the commissionar of the NHL and you get to make up the rules of the game.
If you could implement any new rule that your little heart desired for the season what would it be??
If you had the golden power to remove one rule from the game entirely what would it be??
If you could change the past which rule from then would you bring back??
We all know that rules and regulations sometimes can make or break a teams game. So have fun with this and really use your noodles!!!

my rules
I would keep touch icing. I admit that. I would also change the delay of game rule so that it fit each circumstance. I would let goalies handle the puck in the trapezoids because thats one of their peeves, not being able to. I would also regulate goalie pads so that they are the right size for each goalie and not too big. I would also take out the instigator rule, too.

aside from buisness "changes"
like other said below; no-touch icing, scrap the delay of game penalty for the puck over the glass, and get rid of the dumbest rule ever – the instigator “3rd man in” penalty! I miss the days when running a star player got u a shlt kicking!

What I would change from the past?
It’s not a rule, but Detroit, Chicago and Toronto should all be in the same division. Toronto should never have been sent to the Eastern Conference.

rule change
when a player flips the puck over the glass in his zone it shouldnt be a penalty it is just to costly for a simple mistake i think it should act as an icing where the lines can not change.i also think they have got to make hooking calls actually be a hooking call! not anymore of this barely even touch the other player calls sometimes it drives me nuts! and one other thing that some people may not agree with is the shoot out i say loose it it may be exciting but it does change the standing alot and hockey is a team sport i just hate to see a game won and lost by an individuals abilitys and i think true hockey fans can appreciate a game decieded by a team effort even if it means a tie

The biggest thing i could do to imporove the game if i were Bettman for a day would be to fire all my friends and suckups then quit.

Changes
The New Rule I would implement is “no-touch” icing. I think this would do more to decrease injuries than visors or neck shields.
The existing Rule I would remove is the instigator rule. It was a stupid rule to begin with and I think removing it would allow the players to police the game and actually decrease fighting and Sean Avery would be spot on the boards….
In attempt to increase scoring I would go back to the old penalty system. If you got two minutes in the box you stayed in the box for two minutes score or not.
