Game 4 Wrap Up/Recap

Okay this is do or die time in Philly. The faithful are in full support and ready to break the brooms of anyone who dares to carry one. This series is getting nasty and my blood is flowing.

It is 5:30 and I am here at the Great Wachovia Center tailgaing with some friends and some new found friends. I hope we take it to them and win or lose well I will just be PROUD of my team. They have come so far so quickly.

Its now time to enter and the Flyers Chants are in full bloom. This one is going to be great the boys are just about to hit the ice and the Great Kate and Lauren are gearing up for the best Anthem ever.

Well we all sang God Bless America and we are now starting with a standing O for our boys. Lets Go Flyers!!!!!

The first period is underway and the Flyers are coming out strong and heavy with the new lines this team look anew. It didn’t take the flyboys too long to cash in on the lead just 8:27 into the 1st period Lupul takes a laser of a slap shot from a little above the circle and blasts it by Fluery for a 1-0 lead (Hartnell and Parent assist). Then just minutes later the Flyers are on the PECO PPOWER PLAY and boy where they crisp. The Hated son scores on assists from Jones and Hartnrll. Way to go Rocky looks like you helped find the missing talent.(inside joke only my friends on here now what that means.) Pittsburgh was playing okay and had a few good chances themselves including a Breakaway by Hossa but Biron was having non of that. As the period was coming into its final minutes and 18:50 in Jeff Carter stuffs home a rebound off Fluery in front of the goal with assists by Umberger and Modry. The Flyers are up 3-0 and taking it hard to the Penguins. The hits are harder the tongues are sharper, and most of all the sticks are blazing. We end the 1st 3-0 Flyers.

Wow Wow they are back can you believe it all it took was switching things up. I am going nuts along with the sea of orange. Beers a flowing and the crowds a roaring. I can’t wait for period 2.

Well here it is and away we go this period didn’t see any scoring on the board,but it did see alot of action hard hits, handwashes, and blood boiling over. I am noticing that according to Crosby on the nice TV in the Club box that every Flyer is a PY(adults you know the word,sorry trying to keep it rated G no more then PG 13 don’t want any mad moms hitting me or sending evil notes)LOL. Now I am starting to wonder that if it is soo true why has Crosby not dropped the gloves. Ummm well 2nd periods over and the 3rd will be a doozy. Oh yeah if you were Wondering BIRON is AMAZING.

Well wow what a game so far I bet we will see multiple fights in period 3. Here we go the puck drops and the action is picking up and oh no 3:16 into the period Jordan Stall scores a lucky goal(he was in the right place at right time)with assists from Kennedy and Talbot. Oh boy come on guys lets go and we all start chanting and Crosby is still running his mouth not sure if you want to be calling Jason Smith or Hatcher out if your Crosby. The teams go hit for hit shot for shot and then Jordan Stall again finds room to shoot a one timer after Parent slips and makes it 3-2 at the 14:11 mark with assists from again Kennedy and Talbot. This line is spelling trouble and we are growing inpatient. The Crowd is getting loud and with 3 minutes left we all rise as one and start pounding everything we can to cheer our boys on and at the 19:27 mark Lupul scores his 2nd of the game on an empty net assisted by Scott Hartnell. Now just seconds remain and Jordan Stall skates in and OH MY GOD Upshall runs him a ground right into the boards behind Biron. Then a everyone gathers and Malone and Hatcher go at it and Hatcher just beats the pants off Malone. Even the linesmen who jumped in looks at Malone like he was nuts. Hatcher looks possessed. Both Hatcher and Upshall are tossed and same for Malone. Now just 15 seconds left and Crosby is yelling at the Richards and Parent. Oh my the two square off at the faceoff circle and Richards wants Crosby but the Linesmen jump in and save the kid. Crosby tries a sucker punch and run but Jason Smith Catchs him from behind and with one hand on Crosby’s face pulls him against the boards. LOL ummm whos the PY now Crosby(again PY female body part, gotta keep it clean). The game is over and Talbot a sore loser commits a Game Misconduct Penalty. Well played boys you gave us all a mini heart attack but you pulled thru. 4-2 Woo Hoo!!

In closing Crosby if you are going to use the PY word (all adults know the word, I am trying to keep it G rated no more then pg 13 don’t need parents yelling at me)please know its meaning. I would hate to think that at 20 yrs old you actually think it means that none of the Flyers on any given night couldn’t land you in a hospital bed from a fight or hit. If you choose to call players out be a MAN and drop the gloves. Now to Game 5 this one will be a great one as the Hatred is boiling over and I expect even more fights in Game 5 especially if Richards sees Crosby in the faceoff circle again. This was a great game by both clubs and the refs. Sorry all the calls were correct tonight so prop to the zebras with Orange strip. Well all I can say is this series has just started and is far from done. We learned Coburn and Timmo are looking like 80-90% chances for Game 5 and talks about Gagne coming back before the series is over are brewing up nicely. It did help to note Gange was at the game and he hasn’t been at many so far since being injuried. Ummm one must wonder he looked okay in the box.

Well in closing I hope this game made you all hot and fired up all over again. Both sides played very well and tonight was our night. I would like to say Jordan I know what it feels like to lose a grandfather who was soo close to you. Like you my grandfather taught me the game as well.
