Born in Flint, raised in the U.P., now living in Ky but still a lifelong fan of all Detroit teams. I drive to Detroit, Columbus, and Nashville to see my beloved Wings. From 7 years old, I had blades on my feet. During dry falls we’d let the garden hose run in the back yard just to have a place to skate. In later years I’d skate in the overflow ponds of Lake Michigan near Manistique. Then skate the ice dunes that would form on the shores of the U.P. Great Lakes. Sure do miss it up there. Never being good enough for more than drop in games, I now do HVAC. It’s a good living but not the passion, blood and guts NHL we all dreamed of when we were kids. Though a die hard Wings fan, I love all things hockey.
