Joining NHL Connect
Go to the Blog Central page and click the Sign Up Now link which will lead you to the registration page. After filling out and submitting the form, you should receive a confirmation email. When you receive the email, click on the link to confirm activation of your account. You are now ready to log in and add content to your new NHL Connect profile page.
Visiting NHL Connect
As a visitor to NHL Connect, you can browse and search the site, view members and their snapshots, videos and blogs. After logging in you will be able to rate and comment on members and their content, upload photos and videos, create a blog, and create groups.
Is NHL Connect free?
Yes, NHL Connect is currently a free service where you can

- • Post comments, blogs and interests
- • Upload and tag photos and videos
- • Exchange personalized comments
- • Rate content such as photos, videos, blogs and member profiles
- • Link to other friends in the community
- • Create groups to share information
Are there any restrictions?
Please keep it clean when you upload images and language or your account may be suspended or terminated. Do not show blood on a player or on the ice, or depict any player, coach or fan fighting or engaging in a verbal confrontation with another player, coach, fan or an official, or any action in connection with which a major or match penalty is assessed. Please refer to the complete Terms of Service.
What web browser can I use?
Recommended browsers for Windows users are Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 1.5 and 2. For Macintosh users Firefox 1.5 and 2 and Safari 2 are recommended.
Visiting NHL Connect
Here are all the things you can do as an unregistered visitor to NHL Connect
Browse from the Members Page
Click on Members (in the black navigation bar) to view a list of the most recent, most popular and featured NHL Connect member pages. Click on the profile image or name to view their page.
Browse from the Friends List
NHL Connect users can link to each other as Friends. Click on a member’s friend in their list to view their page.
Browse Groups
Go to the Groups page by clicking on Groups (in the black navigation bar) where you can view the most recent, most popular and featured groups, or click on a group from a user’s Group list. You can view the group’s members, snapshots, videos and comments.
Browse Snapshots, Videos and Blogs
Click on the links in the black navigation bar to view most recent, featured and most popular snapshots, videos and blogs uploaded by NHL Connect members.
Search
Search the site for specific terms or phrases by entering them in the Search field (located in the black navigation bar) and clicking the Go button. Select from the Search Results page.
Rate Members and their Content
Only registered members of NHL Connect can rate members and their content.
Add Comments to other Member’s Pages
Only registered members of NHL Connect can add comments to other member’s pages.
View Comments on The Boards
As a site visitor, you can view the comments posted to The Boards on each member or group page.

What to do when you receive the activation email
When you receive the email, click on the link to confirm activation of your account. You are now ready to log in and add content to your new NHL Connect profile page.
Logging In and Out
Logging In
Once your account has been activated, log in from the Login box on the right-hand side of any page. Enter your email address and password that you registered with and click the Login button.
After you log in, you will be forwarded to your personal profile page. You will notice that a personalized navigation bar will appear (under the black navigation bar) where you have direct links to your profile page, your friends, groups, blogs, snapshots and videos that you can click on from any page on the site.
Logging Out
When you are finished with your session, click the Log Out button located on the right side of your gray personalized navigation bar.

Edit Your Profile
Once you have joined NHL Connect and successfully logged in, you can easily add and edit your content on your personal profile page. Click on “My Profile” in the gray navigation menu. Your page is broken up into different sections—About You, Friends, Groups, The Boards, Snapshots, Blogs, Videos. Each section will allow you to edit and/or add to it. For instance if you’d like to add a photo to your Snapshots, click the “Upload a Snapshot” link. If you’d like to edit a blog, locate the blog and then click the “edit” link. If you’d like to change the information in the About You section, click the link that says “Edit” in the About You section.
Adding and Editing your Profile Information
Adding your interests: To add your Favorite players and teams, Music, Books, and Movies to your Profile or to update your Description click the “Edit” link from the About You section to get to the Edit My Profile section and then choose the Personal tab. Use words or short phrases separated by commas for the interest sections.
Updating your profile photo: From the Edit My Profile section, click the Profile Photo tab and select a different photo to upload. You can change this as often as you like.
Account Settings: Settings such as your Name, Birth date, Zip/Postal code, and Country can be changed from the Account tab. Your password can be updated under the Password tab.
Adding and Editing Your Content
Posting Comments: Click the “New” link in The Boards section. Enter a title and the body of your Comment then click the Post button.
Adding Comments, Snapshots, and Videos: Select My Profile in the gray navigation bar to get to your page. You will see “new” links in each section. Click the “New” links to add content.
Editing Comments, Snapshots, Videos: Select the “Edit” link under the comment, snapshot or video you created to make changes.
Delete Comments, Snapshots, Videos: Select the “Delete” link under the comment, snapshot or video.
Adding Friends: On your profile page you can click the “Invite” link in the My Friends section to send an invitation email to a friend. You can also browse the member directory by selecting the “Browse” link, also in the My Friends section. Select a member’s picture to view their page. From there you can select “Add to friends” in their About section. Click on My Friends to view all of your friends, friend requests and see who has requested your friendship. You can accept, reject and block anyone that has requested your friendship.
Creating and Editing Groups
Creating a new Group: Click the “New” link on the My Groups button in the gray navigation bar. Or click on the My Group link and select the “New” link from the Groups I Have Created section. Enter the name and description of your group and select the Membership Size of your group. You may also choose a theme for the group and select a profile photo for your group. When you are done, click the “Create New Group” button from the “General” tab.
Editing a Group: Click on the “Edit” link in the About section.
Permanently delete a Group: Go to the group’s main page and select “Delete group” in the About section. Note, if deleting a group that you are the owner of, you will be deleting the content posted by all members of that group and the group will be removed from their list. This cannot be recovered.
Add content to a Group: Click on My Groups button in the gray navigation bar. Select your group to get the to main page where you can select the “New” link in all different sections (The Boards, Snapshots, Videos, Blogs) to create new content. Note, group owners can edit or delete content that has been posted to a group.
Reporting Offensive Content
When you are logged in you will see links to “Flag as inappropriate” under member snapshots, videos, comments and blogs. Clicking this link will notify an official moderator to review the content. Please DO NOT report material as offensive if you just disagree with it. This function is intended for reporting abusive content. Excessive reporting or intentionally sabotaging content will result in suspension from NHL Connect.
