I grew up across the river in Vancouver WA and would hear horror stories about all the gang activity not to mention all the drugs that are floating around up there…. but then again many of them are bored Native Americans from Yakima Valley area that don’t feel like they have a future in the U.S. Many of them want to live the Gangsta life style. It’s seriously sad.
Living in Ottawa we are very lucky we got two junior teams one in the OHL and one in the Q, the Gatineau Olympique. As the Sens and 67’s got swept in the first round, the Olympique are still fighting strong. Led by Claude Giroux the Gatineau Olympique are on fire right now. I was @ the game last night against the Halifax Moosehead and they totally outplayed them, pounding them 6-1. The Mooseheads were led by Brad Marchand and Jakub Voracek, but they we’re totally shut down. They are on the verge of sweeping the Moosehead as they are up 3-0 in the series and I don’t see any fight left in the after last nights game. Gatineau would like to finish this up at home, rather then take a long bus ride back to Halifax. Waiting in the finals are the Rouyn Noranda Huskies as they swept there previous opponents.
That would be great to have that option of taking in games for both the Q and the O. Ottawa and Gatineau (Hull) have such great history between them both and churn out so many NHLers, past, present, and future. Would’ve thought Halifax could put up a better fight than they did against the Olympique.
Thought the Hounds would put up a bit more of a fight in their Western Conf. Final. Kitchener IS like a Mack truck this year, and will be hard to stop on their home ice at the Mem Cup.
