Spokane Chiefs are WHL Champs

Big ups! Congratulations to the Spokane Chiefs for capturing the Western Hockey League Championship (Ed Chynoweth Cup) this past tuesday. Spokane swept the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the final series.

Washington State (and U.S.) hockey fans have reason to celebrate. The Chiefs are the first US Division WHL team to win the Cup in 10 years (Portland in 1998). Exciting stuff.
Spokane will be representing the Dub at the Memorial Cup Championship tournament in Kitchener, Ontario. Go Chiefs!
Even though they kicked my Seattle T-birds’ butts to the curb of Queen Anne Ave this season, I’m beyond proud.
