That was fun.
Thunder Valley lived up to its reputation once again. The Craftsman truck series broke its Bristol record for most cautions and most laps under caution but it still managed to be a good race.
First off, the was Jimmy Johnson driving the 81 for Randy Moss – that alone was worth watching. Unfortunately, Jimmy got loose around lap 100 and although he made a valiant effort to save it, he was hit by another truck and put out. (watch the video – it is impressive). Too bad, I was really hoping to see Kyle and Jimmy go at it.
Yes, Rowdy won …. again, but there was some good racing between the usual suspects. Tod Bodine finished second and Scott Speed (!) third. That guy certainly is making the transition from open wheel smoothly.

More in the ongoing Chase saga ...
It was not a good day for the Hendrick boys – 17th, 18th, 23rd & 42nd. Blech. And they looked really good (except Mears) at the start.
There were a lot of ‘unusual’ drivers in the top 10 – good to see Vickers do well. I think he’s a much better driver than his car would have you believe. And it was nice to have Cousin Carl win instead of the Kyle Busch show. Adds a little more interest going into the Chase. Less than 200 pts between 6th and 14th place!
Regan still has a shot at it. So, who thinks who will end up getting those last spots?
Bowyer
Regan
Hamlin
Kahne?
I think Gordon and Kenseth will make the Chase but I’m thinking Bowyer may be out.
