    Lightning - Red Wings Deal

Tampa Bay should offer to trade their entire team for Daniel Cleary – but Detroit would be crazy to accept their offer…Maybe if the Lightning threw in a case of Sherwood hockey sticks and a couple of dozen CCM Super Tacks

not a good day for canadian teams

The nhl Trade Deadline day, was probably one of the biggest let downs in years. Hossa was my big let down, after leaving the Senators a few years back in the Heatley deal, it would have been great to e him back in a Sens uniform. But alas, the Pittsburgh Penguins gave the Thrashers a handful of nobosie, including downward spiraling draft disappointment Angelo Espesito. The winner on thei day, definately the Dallas Stars. Aquiring All Star Center Brad Richards and Johan Holquvist from the Lightning, for Goalie Mike Smith, winger Jussi Jolkinen and Center Jeff Halpern, plus a few picks. Dallas finally madfe a ove thisyear, and major props go out to Brett Hull and Les Jackson, who put together a good package for Tampa Bay to jump on. Smith is a grat goalie, with a huge future in the leage, an jolkinen and Halpern, are a great addition to any team. The biggest disappointment, has to be the Toronto Maple Leafs, Cliff Fletcher did nothing except free up some mucg needed cap space, by dumping off some great players, Chad Kilger may not put up the big numbers, but on a penelty kill, he is one of the finest, an asset that i think the Leafs are gonna miss alot. Hal Gill never really looked comfortabl in a Leaf uniform, an what can I say about Wad Belak, the guy is one of the best fighters in the game. And personally I think the Leafs are going to miss him. They scooped up some potentially great draft picks, that will definately help them in the future. But they just couldnt unload any of thier big name players, because of Jonh Ferguson Jr’s stupid no trade clauses. Moving Mats, or McCabe, or even the likes of Darcy Tucker, and Pavel Kubina, may have greabbed the Leaf the kind of player they need. Sundins nmbers this yea could have fetched him a good return, and could havelanded him on a Cup contender…not theat i dont respect hic loyalty and his blue and white pride, becuse honestlu I do. And as a former supporter of the Leafs, I am kind of happy they fifnt make a big deal. My Senators howevet, brought in a great etern preformer in the likes of Martain Lapointe, and the deal just before the deadline day for Cory Stillman, and Mike Commodore was sheer genius on the part of Bryann Murry. As a Senators fan i hope the resence of those great vetern preformers, who have both tasted what its like to drink from the Cup. I certainly hope, they can finally bring the cup back to the Great White North eh??
This is me, dropping my line on the deadline that, for this Blogger, one big let down, after another. Congrats to the Columbus Blue Jackets however, for droppping Federov and Foote, and making room to score large in the Free AGent market in the summertime. I like theBLue Jackts, Rik Nash is amazing, and I hopethey finaalyget a tast of the playoffs. See you all later. Enjoy the rest of the season, and I hope we can all discuss whos going where during the first few dsays of Free AGency. Later y’all

    F..ing..Lightning..

Prospal 29 goals..Johan 20-16..Richards 18 goals..Hvlac 10 goals…For Who? A back-up goalie thats 12-9 a bunch of AHL players?? I agree on having richards and prospal as trade bait, but for someone like Cristobal Huet or Luongo. Season Over..Looks like saw producer is shredding this team already.

    Who said ...

That San Jose won the Campbell trade? Bernier had a 3 point night! I think he’ll fit nicely in Buffalo’s line-up, not that they won’t miss Brian Campbell..
