Who’s gonna be on the roster next year? It seems that there are alot of new signings and no one actually leaving, what gives?

true test?
the guy comes in at the tail end of the season to a team with so many players out…that’s not a test…and if it is it’s an open book test. Let’s see how he does next season when he has to endure an entire NHL season and play with the Isles at full strength…if THAT ever happens for long enough!

Okposo's true test
Ok, Klye Okposo has done somethings i’m not used to seeing the islanders do in a while (awesome wrap around vs toronto)…..but i think the true test for him will be the last 2 games of the season vs the rangers, especially the game april 3rd at the Coliseum….the pressure is on!!!

food for though for all teams
food for though for all teams
I don’t check other team pages often but some good points were brought up on the Sabres group page recently everyone needs to read about NHL rules and changes. If they are not in the last five comments visible please look back in the last 10 or so, we, as fans, need to chime in on the future of our game. some good thoughts mentioned here starting with Jimmy. I think that a new point structure is needed (he mentioned the 3 pioint regulation win, 2 point overtime win, and 1 point shootout win, and 0 for a loss), and not only because the Sabres suck in the shootout. The shootout is not hockey! I’m not sure that point structure is the answer but I kind of like it. I REALLY LIKE A ONE MINUTE PENALTY IN OVERTIME! It makes the lopsided 4 on 3 less an impossible battle. Although I like the old system of 5 on 5 for 10 minutes (not 5 minutes) like back in the day for a point a piece, it seems anticlimactic but so does soccer (sorry stac). To bring up Stac’s comments about games: I know they are going to switch the schedule to be more team friendly for everyone;i.e, play everyone once a year and alternate home/away and time zone friendly, and not giving a team 5 days off only to follow with 2 back to backs in a row. I also played sports where my schedule was early in the day, but in College I also got stuck fighting for time around the basketball team and every spring sport in the gym. So a few times I had to follow a 10-midnight practice with a 5-7 am practice (a.k.a. no sleep) and it made me stronger. That is why the west is better, not because of the players, but because of adversity. If you don’t know what time it is it must be game time, that’s my thought about the west. If its not 7 or 7:30 (thanks Newfoundland) its not game time in the east. Any thoughts post to your group page (keep it going) or respond to my comment on the Sabres page. We have the power to help in our words here.
