    Schedule planner

I hope NHL improves and changesfor 2008-2009 season in
reduces inter-division games makes equal outside division teams . Suggesting
1 home and 1 away games for outside division only..
It will makes fans exciting and enjoyable to watch..
It will make president cup more sense and in fairness to all teams if winning president cup prize money!!!

    Thanksgiving

It’s a holiday weekend here in Canada, so before we sign off from the War Room, just wanted to send a Thanksgiving shout-out to the Great White North. What am I thankful for? I’m thankful to the cool dudes in Hockey Operations for letting me hang out here for the night. Thanks, guys!

    Gordie Howe Hat Trick

I just found out that Gordie Howe only recorded one “Gordie Howe Hat Trick” in his career. A GHHT, of course, is when a player gets a goal, an assist and a fight in the same game. Howe’s lone one came on Dec. 22, 1955 against Boston. Chicago’s James Wisniewski is an assist away from recording one of his own. Like I said, the guys in the War Room don’t miss a thing!

    Officiating the officials

Murph says “policing” the officials isn’t the expression he’d use, but that’s exactly what happens here. At the end of every game, Hockey Ops will produce a list of notes on whatever game they’ve watched. Each guy will fill one out, color-coded and all, that illustrates everything the refs did well and didn’t do well in that game. The notes are then passed along to Stephen Walkom, the head of officiating (who sometimes will be in the War Room, too) and he then goes back to the refs when neceassary and goes over what the War Room thought of their recent performance,
