Mikey, you believe we’ll take the cup? We’re against the Detroit Red Wings, which I don’t have to remind you that they won the cup last year, and they have gotten even BETTER in the offseason. This is just one example of a team that can kick our asses. While I believe that we’ve improved vastly and will likely make the playoffs, we’re not winning the cup this year and if we do, then I’m convinced we have a horse-shoe up our…
My point is, there are many other teams out there that are more skilled than we are. There are still some adjustments being made to the team and the kids are still developing. I know people expect the world from them, but it was just last year that they were rookies. Don’t forget that.
Great call up should be a no-brainer-Ryan O’Marra !
Ryan has a history with Sam Gagner and Andrew Cogliano.
With the World JR’s-so why not and I know there will be instant chemistry.
We needed that win against the flames and we went out with everything and got what we needed! That was perfection and any Oil fan who missed it, I feel sorry for you. Come on Edmonton get excited, we are going to the playoffs!
This is exactly the kind of guy we need on our backend. Alot of people saying we lack that one shutdown d-man, well we’ve already got a guy who played fairly well even without logging a point, if any points at all. I say we should give Rourke a shot before we do Peckham.
I don’t check other team pages often but some good points were brought up on the Sabres group page recently everyone needs to read about NHL rules and changes. If they are not in the last five comments visible please look back in the last 10 or so, we, as fans, need to chime in on the future of our game. some good thoughts mentioned here starting with Jimmy. I think that a new point structure is needed (he mentioned the 3 pioint regulation win, 2 point overtime win, and 1 point shootout win, and 0 for a loss), and not only because the Sabres suck in the shootout. The shootout is not hockey! I’m not sure that point structure is the answer but I kind of like it. I REALLYLIKE A ONEMINUTEPENALTY IN OVERTIME! It makes the lopsided 4 on 3 less an impossible battle. Although I like the old system of 5 on 5 for 10 minutes (not 5 minutes) like back in the day for a point a piece, it seems anticlimactic but so does soccer (sorry stac). To bring up Stac’s comments about games: I know they are going to switch the schedule to be more team friendly for everyone;i.e, play everyone once a year and alternate home/away and time zone friendly, and not giving a team 5 days off only to follow with 2 back to backs in a row. I also played sports where my schedule was early in the day, but in College I also got stuck fighting for time around the basketball team and every spring sport in the gym. So a few times I had to follow a 10-midnight practice with a 5-7 am practice (a.k.a. no sleep) and it made me stronger. That is why the west is better, not because of the players, but because of adversity. If you don’t know what time it is it must be game time, that’s my thought about the west. If its not 7 or 7:30 (thanks Newfoundland) its not game time in the east. Any thoughts post to your group page (keep it going) or respond to my comment on the Sabres page. We have the power to help in our words here.

If
Everything pans out and no stupid trades are done by Kevin Lowe I think, no I know we’ll take the cup in 09.
