Earnin' that respect...
So I went to Game 4 against Detroit, which was a killer game, but I was flipping out because the game was at 6 pm. I left the apartment at about 4 heading to Anaheim, and it took me like 2 hours and 45 minutes. I just hit the sickest rush hour traffic of all time, and I was just itching to get to the game. The first period started and I was still a half hour away, so I started listening on the radio. It was really frustrating.

Back in familiar territory
OK, so hang on a second here…“Dr.! Life Support, please! Can you bring me a cappuccino and a cigar, because we’re getting to that point, where things are beginning to look quite grim…”
I’m kidding.
But this is it – the first elimination game Detroit has faced this postseason. I almost forgot what the feeling was like. I didn’t forget how much I dislike it though, and how much I had hoped we wouldn’t have to suffer through one at all. But this is the Wild West. The best, most dangerous and difficult hockey league on the planet, and to think you wouldn’t have to face an elimination game is foolish. This was coming, one way or another, and now we’re going to see how the boys respond.

Looking for respect
It all begins tonight for my Ducks. Game 1 vs. Detroit! My mind is everywhere…there is so much going on it’s going to be really, really good. I mean, you have the history between these teams in the playoffs. Years ago, it was Detroit getting a shot at the “lowly” Ducks. Now we’re looking forward to be seen as a force to be reckoned with.

A Wings fan in Saskatoon
So I’ve been spending the past few days at home, in Saskatoon Saskatchewan, and things couldn’t be better. I’ve had time to spend with my dad, my friends and family, and just enough time to catch the Wings make it to the Conference Final since 2002. And to top it off, it gets underway tonight!
