Miracle? What about 1972?

The 1972 Summit series between Canada vs Russia(CCCP) was a historical political moment for the western world. It’s just that no one cares what happens in Canada, especially south of the border. I remember the significance of free Canadians travelling to communist Russia, the Evil Empire.
And unlike the 1980 Miracle, where fans say they woke people up to tell them USA beat Russia, our whole country watched the final game on September 28, 1972.
Schools gathered in common areas and auditoriums, and people at work found a TV, or took the day off.
It’s one of the most important days in Canadian history, and certainly the most important for the NHL and International hockey.
