hey guys I'm brand new to the forum and I'm pulling my hair out trying to find out the answer to my question on Center Ice. I live in the Rockland County area which is provided by Cablevision. ALL I want to know from you great fans is ABOUT how many of the games on center ice are broadcast in Hi Def? Cablevision while VERY helpful has NO idea every time I ask them. I'm not dropping $170 on a package where the majority of games will be in Standard def. I'm fortunate to have a 50' 1080p plasma running my games so I want to take full advantage of that. I don't know anyone local or online who has the package so I figured I would go straight to the source - Nhl.com. I'm not asking for anything crazy like specific numbers BUT I would like a general idea of how many games on average a night are typically in hi def. My interest strays towards the big city markets (Chicago, Boston, Detroit, Montreal, etc.) No offense but I have no...

The end of Balsillie?

Just when we thought the NHL - Jim Balsillie situation was over, along comes SI's Allan Muir. Muir's article, which I quote from below, seems to tell a different story about the Balsillie rejection than the one we've been hearing from NHL commissioner, Gary Bettman. Muir quotes Kevin Compton, part owner of the San Jose franchise, in his article.

"Jim loves hockey," Compton told the paper. "Jim's got a lot of money. Jim's got a lot of passion."

Okay,
less than judicious perhaps, but not too bad. Compton wasn't done
there. He guaranteed himself a trip to the wood shed by stating he was
100 per cent certain that Balsillie would become an owner at some point
in the future. Then, when asked why the owners had rejected Balsillie,
he replied, "Owners [didn't]."

This is a ongoing topic and has just become pathetic. The NBA has started reviewing every play to make sure the call is right and I think goals and certain penalties should be under review. The goal in dallas vs detroit should have been a goal it was 1.7 seconds after the puck went it there is no way the ref could take that long to blow is whistle. The highstick in the leafs vs hurricanes where the hurricane player highsticked his own player and it was a 4 minute powerplay what was a bad call and the hurricanes player kicked the puck into his own net and the goal was disallowed and when the puck that went into the netting and ended up in the net if the puck is out its out. REVIEW is NEEDED NHL IS A JOKE FIX THIS LEAGUE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What do you think?

That is about the dumbest excuse I have ever heard. There is no way a referee could have blown a whistle that fast under any circumstance. It was no more than a split second split second from the time the shot was taken until the puck was in the net. It was in one continueous motion the whole time.

And NHL wonders why fan support is going down?
Wings Get Top Shelf Screw Job

WTF happened tonight? Brad May's no goal is absolutely terrible. First the ref says he intended to blow the whistle on a straight in shot and then the head office in Toronto follows his lead.

The puck was clearly in the net for a full 2-3 seconds before the whistle went, an besides how can the ref say he intended to blow the whistle when it was a straight in shot. he would have had to intend the blow the whistle as May was shooting the puck!

This is a total disgrace to the NHL.

There should be some sort of electronic device in the puck to signal a goal and eliminate this stupidity.

Wings got screwed in finals with Pittsburgh having 6 guys on the ice for about 30 seconds and now this! WTF!

Wings fans, stop by and leave your comments here.
http://www.facebook.com/pages/In-Play-Magazine/66828874928?ref=s

I am very frustrated with the on line buying system. You make it impossible to order my son a San Hose toys for Christmas. It is bad enough that all the stores in this regein carry only Toronto and other Canadian team products. I have gone to every hockey store in the London area to find him a hat and shirts but no one carries any toys or kids hats. I have asked the store owners they have all said it is your distribution system that does not allow me to get any thing San Hose. So I go on line and find some really nice shirts and hoodies but no stuffed San Hose. I had the shirts, hat and hoody on my shopping cart hoping to find a stufftie and or a car the web site is as bad as the stores. I did not buy the stuff in my cart because I wanted the toys more so. So the NHL just lost a miner deal. I have just got on line a few months ago so it took me quite a while to get no were. My son s the NHL and...

over forty years, the Los Angeles Kings have existed in Los Angeles,
and there have been six true members who have been inducted into the
Hockey Hall of Fame. But only one can truly be called a King, and that
is Luc Robitaille. We spend most of the podcast exulting about No. 20's
accomplishments and what he means to us.

We are also
joined by one of Luc's former teammates and one of Jesse's Top Three
Favorite Players of All Time: Bob Kudelski. Bob was nice enough
to come on and talk about his time with the Kings, Luc and his career.
Did you know Bob shares a rare NHL record? Listen in and find

spleen (this week about the trapezoid and the TV coverage)... But
mostly it's all about Luc. ...
