Description:
Syd Butler is the bassist for Les Savy Fav, a New York-based band considered among the godfathers of the independent rock music scene. Butler founded the Frenchkiss Records label, with the intent to release the band’s albums, and has since signed over 35 bands, including the Hold Steady, Thunderbirds Are Now, and the Dodos. Ever since growing up in the Washington D.C. area, Syd has been a die-hard Washington Capitals fan. He can’t wait to see what the Stanley Cup Playoffs bring for his Caps.

Grew up playing soccer and lacrosse. Also a fan of the Montreal Canadiens and Arsenal F.C. of the English Premier League

Ovechkin (he brings so much joy and happiness to the game), Scott Gomez and Chris Drury are both class acts, I love Kolzig (he’s been the backbone of the Caps for years), and of course, Gretzky.

Do You Believe in Miracles?
Miracles do happen! I’m in shock, but happy as can be as the Caps return to the Playoffs. It’s as if the League wanted us in, but I’m not complaining. I was at the game last Thursday against Tampa Bay and it was exciting. It was a nail-biter for the first couple of periods and the whole place was pretty tense. But when Ovechkin scored to put us ahead everyone went nuts. I even got to meet him after the game, which was awesome. He’s such a great player and a phenomenal ambassador for the game. ...more
