Description:

My love affair with hockey started when I was 12. We had only one main TV in the house in which my mom was usually watching some prime time soap or drama, so getting to watch a hockey game was a rarity. My grandpa gave me his old 13” black and white TV that he didn’t use anymore. I set up shop in my kitchen with foil wrapped around the rabbit ears for better reception. The volume control button fell off so I used a pencil eraser to raise it so I could hear Darling, Lorentz, or Jeanerett, whomever was commentating the games back then. Black and white, foil, and erasers were not going to stop me from watching my new found glory, the Buffalo Sabres. Once you’re drawn into a sport, it’s not a phrase or a style that you eventually grow out of. It stays with you for life. That sport for me, like everyone else here, is hockey. Seems as if we all have something in common here, so try and cross check me into the boards with your words. I would love to hear your thoughts and comments about the wonderful world of hockey.
