Well, being a young man growing up in SW Fl. I almost never discovered the Great sport of Hockey, until I was on a summer vacation to Connecticut and was introduced to this strange and mysterious game. I also began purchasing hockey cards, and in my first packs I pulled a pair of dashing French-Canadiens known as Luc Robitaille and Mario Lemieux, they soon became my favorite players! Upon my return to Fl. I continued to follow the game here and there. It wasnt until 1993 when I got cable TV that I was actually able to follow the game on a regular basis. In the 93-94 season it was the New York Rangers who swept my friends and I off our feet! We started rooting for them somewhere around midseason and followed them all the way through the Finals! When the Rangers lifted the cup for the first time in 54 years I definitely noticed a triumph of the human spirit! Sooooo…. Thats the Story of how I got into hockey, and why I still love it today!
