Alright, I hate doin’ these things, but here we go… Hockey nut ‘til the day I die, it started out at the pubs back in good ol’ Kinsale, Co Cork, Ireland; I used to stay up ‘til 3 in the morn to watch American sporting events as a kid and got hooked watching the Habs on some channel I can’t even remember any more. I grew more and more into it and became an Islander wagon rider through their early eighties dynasty, Bossy, Trottier, Sutter and so on…then in ‘82 we visited family ’cross the pond and I got to go the new expansion team transplanted from Colorado…my Grandfather bought me one of those authentic red and green Devils jerseys and when we got back home, used some hand-down ice skates and would literally wake up at 3 to watch who ever was playing, catch the autobus to Cork city or the train to Dublin and spend up all my chore wages to go ice skating. I had always been a goalie in football (soccer here in the states) so naturally, I had to become a goaltender in hockey, but of course! Anyway, we had to move to America when I was 18 and lo’ and behold, my gramps got stationed at McGuire in NJ! Woohoo, Dev’s season tickets and I had a full parley! Although waiting ‘til 21 to get beer here was @! So, kept practicing, got better, and one day got a call to tryout for an IHL team in Washington state, playedfor ’bout 3 years ’til I had my left knee-cap replaced and am now forced to play pick-up league after work. But the mates are fab and we get our @-ups after so the normal balance of life can resume n stuff. There it is. Dev’s forever, Brodeur is a god and I don’t fancy the Rangers AT ALL!!!!!!! Slainte!

Hello
It’s so nice to hear from someone back home. Yes, the boys love the accent although they ask me to say the strangest things. Americans certainly are “interesting” aren’t they? I love how they can’t tell the differences between a “Northern Brit” and "Southern Brit. I miss the pubs back home and watching football on the telly, but the weather here is amazing.
