NHL Connect ID:
Cuddlebear
Description:
Happily married electronics professional. Veteran. I was born in the southwest we moved to New Jersey. While still young we re-located to the Chicago area. For the most part this is where I was raised. I did live in the DC area for about a year when I was 13 or so. I have been stationed in New Orleans (hard to find Hockey), New York and Hampton Roads Va. I have had long time work assignments (lasting a minimum of six weeks) in Florida, Connecticut, Maine and Italy. The travel accounts for my fan association to a degree. As I have gotten older and witnessed how players have begun to more around more I have become more interested in players than teams to a degree.
Favorite NHL Team:
Chicago Blackhawks
Favorite Sports/Teams:
In hockey after Chi: Phoenix and Carolina in the NHL; Norfolk and Rochester in the AHL. Michigan and North Dakota in college. Football: NFL – Oakland and Carolina; College – Michigan, Nothern Illinois and I love watching small schools and Ivy League (go Princton!) Baseball: The Sox (White only please) and whoever is playing the sCrUBS… I also like the Tidewater Tides, Portland Seadogs and the Edenton Steamers. Lacrosse: We have just started to watch MLL and we don’t get into NLL. We cheer for Duke, Maryland and Princton.
Favorite Players:
Too many to list them all. When I started to play hockey I wanted to be Glen Hall and then Tony Esposito. I think that Ovechkin is as good as any player I have seen save the Great One and Super Mario. The 2008 playoffs have caused me to re-evaluate Crosby, I am far more impressed with him than I was before. The ‘Hawks are loaded with great young players I really have high hopes for a great future for guys wearing the coolest sweater in pro sports…
Music:
I dig the blues. Among my favourites John Lee Hooker, Ruth Brown, Taj Mahal and Tommy Castro.
Books:
Currently reading: The Ruins by Scott Smith All time favourites: Atlas Shrugged, Stranger in a Strange Land, Frankenstein. Anything by James Fenimore Cooper. I am sure there are others.
Movies:
My wife and I like the romantic comedies of the 30’s. Old series mysteries (Boston Blackie, Chalie Chan, Mr. Moto, The Lone Wolf, The Falcon, The Saint among others). Adventure movies and some Westerns. We also really dug Mystery Alaska. Last of the Mohicans(‘92), 36 Hours(‘65), A Matter of Life and Death (‘47) among others
Other interests:
Spending time with Chuck (our dog). Rving, biking, canoeing, photography, Grilling and Babequeing.

Actually..
.. I think the Hawks are building a dynasty. Mike (floridafan) and I are just jealous you have Campbell now not to mention your two fab rookies. All I can say is – watch out Detroit on New Years Day!
Yes, she is a beauty. I’d seen her from a distance but this was the first time I managed to get aboard. She had a bunch of cadets fresh off the plane, none of whom looked old enough to eat solid food.

Wow! Didn't Know..........
.......you had been here to Baton Rouge on a number of occasions. We’re trying to build it bigger – the city that is. I know little about the SPHL. It’s a very small league, and to the best of my knowledge, it’s NOT an affiliate league, like the ECHL and the CHL. Nevertheless, I’d surely go to a game if I ever had the chance. How did you come to like the Knoxville team?

Another Coastie?
Semper Paratus to you, too. When and where??? Did you do boot at Cape May? Were you an ET? I’ve run into a couple other Coasties on the boards. _… _
(by the way, I resent the baseball remark … tell me you’re not a Yankee fan).
